To the Bohuslän museum, artists Bettina von Zwehl and Trish Morrissey were invited in 2015-16 to a art residence, which means that they have been able to work in the museum, with museum collections. Both artists will show works that have been created during the residence, but also a selection of previous works. The exhibition "Face the Collection", which opens on December 3, will offer many exciting and rare meetings in time and space.
Take note of the report that follows Trish Morrissey in her work, based primarily on photography and video. She has previously had several art houses at major museums, most recently at the Serlachius Fine Art Foundation, Mänttä, in Finland. In her work, she works repeatedly with questions about gender and she often places herself in the pictures. With humor as a method, she explores the boundaries of photography and captures the meeting between present and history. For example, in a work, "Rosa and Irma", Morrissey has recreated a number of photographs representing a twin pair from Stenungsund.
